Matt Benjamin

Matt has been an Upper School Social Studies Teacher since 2019, and is currently teaching Post World War II America and Government and Civics to students in grades 9 and 12. He graduated from James Madison University in 2004 with a B.A. in Political Science and from SUNY Cortland in 2011 with a B.A. in History. Matt has previously taught Government & Economics, and various levels of both American and World History as well as Debate. Matt has taught at both the high school and middle school levels. He has reinvented various curricula for the schools in Philadelphia where he worked prior to DV Friends and trained and mentored teachers for Teach for America while working at Mastery Charter Schools.
